Planning a golf simulator room
A good simulator room is designed around the swing first and the technology second. These are the decisions to make before building.

Space comes first
The room must allow a full, confident swing with a driver for the tallest player, with clearance to the ceiling, walls and screen. Every simulator manufacturer publishes minimum dimensions; check them against the actual room, including beams, lights and doors, before anything is ordered.
Think about left- and right-handed players too: the hitting position, and where the launch monitor sits, may need to work for both.
Screen, projector and launch monitor
- An impact screen and enclosure sized to the room, with padding where needed.
- A projector positioned so the player does not cast a shadow and the image fills the screen correctly.
- A launch monitor suited to the room depth and the way it is mounted (floor or ceiling).
- A simulator PC with proper ventilation and a reliable network connection for software and updates.
Lighting
Light falling on the screen washes out the image. The hitting area needs enough light for the launch monitor and the players, while the screen stays dark. Separate circuits and dimming, with scenes such as Play, Lounge and Off, make the room easy to use.
Sound and acoustics
Ball impact is loud. Acoustic treatment and, where the room is next to bedrooms or living areas, attention to sound insulation keep the rest of the house comfortable. A good sound system adds atmosphere to play and to watching sport.
Comfort
Projectors and computers produce heat, and so do players. Plan air-conditioning and ventilation from the start, and leave room for seating, a bar or a lounge area away from the swing zone.
One-touch control
Integrated with the home's control system, one scene can switch on the projector, simulator and sound, set the lights and the temperature, and switch everything off again at the end.
We design these rooms, supply the simulator and integrate it with lighting, sound and control.
