KNX is the open, international standard for controlling lighting, blinds, climate and many other systems in a home. Because the intelligence is distributed across the installation, a well-designed KNX system is stable, expandable and does not need the internet to switch on a light.
Founded in 2008, Touch and Control is a KNX Advanced Partner. We design the system, carry out the electrical installation with our own team, programme every scene and stay with you after handover. If you want a richer interface, we combine KNX with Control4, as a Control4 Platinum Dealer, so you control the whole home from one app or touch panel. If the house already has Crestron, or the project requires it, we programme and integrate it with KNX.
Why KNX, done properly
An open standard, not a closed brand
KNX is used by hundreds of manufacturers and certified professionals worldwide, so your home is not tied to a single product line.
Reliable by design
A decentralised system: lights, blinds and climate keep working locally, even without an internet connection.
Lighting, shading and climate in one system
Scenes such as Morning, Arrival, Movie or Night set lights, blinds and temperature together.
Ready to grow
Add rooms, scenes or new devices later, typically without major rewiring.
Electrical work and programming under one roof
Our own electricians install the KNX bus and distribution boards; the same team programmes and supports it.
Your KNX project file, handed over
You receive the full KNX (ETS) project file on completion, so your system is never locked to one installer.

Frequently asked questions
What is KNX?
KNX is an open, international standard for home and building control. Lighting, blinds, climate and other devices communicate over a dedicated bus, so the system is stable and does not depend on a single manufacturer.
KNX or Control4: which do I need?
They often work together. KNX is the infrastructure for lighting, shading and climate; Control4 adds one interface for audio, video, cinema and the rest of the home. We recommend the combination that fits your property, the way you live and your budget. If your home already has a Crestron system, we can programme it and integrate it with KNX.
Can KNX be installed in an existing home?
It is easiest in new builds and full renovations, because KNX uses its own bus cable. In an existing home we visit, assess what is possible and propose the least intrusive option.
Does KNX work without internet?
Yes. Lighting, blinds, climate and scenes run locally. An internet connection is only needed for remote access from your phone and some integrations.
How much does KNX home automation cost?
It depends on the size of the home, the number of circuits, blinds and climate zones, and the interfaces you choose. After reviewing your plans we prepare a detailed proposal so you know exactly what is included.
Who looks after the system after installation?
We do: we support the systems we install. You also receive the full KNX (ETS) project file on completion and, because KNX is an open standard, your home is never locked to a single installer.
